POLICY ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
The following document describes the procedures used by this website–hereinafter “the Website”–in the management and processing of the personal data of users who consult the site.
This Notice is in accordance with Art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, as well as the General Regulation of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 8 May 2014, No. 229, for all users who interact with the web services of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation, accessible online starting from the address: https://us.clonline.org/. This Policy is limited to the site at https://us.clonline.org/ and not for any other websites that may be accessed by the user using links on aforementioned site. This Policy is also based on Recommendation No 2/2001 which the European Personal Data Protection Authority, meeting as the Working Party established by Art. 29 of Directive 95/46/EC, adopted on 17 May 2001 to identify certain minimum requirements for the online gathering of personal data and, in particular, the methods, times and nature of the information that Data Controllers must provide to users when they visit web pages, irrespective of the purposes of the visit.

3. Purposes and Procedures for Processing Data
Personal data provided by users who send requests for informational materials (newsletter, documents, responses to inquiries, etc.) are used exclusively to complete the service or information requested.
In these cases, the juridical basis for processing the data is the consent provided by the user, expressed in the form of the user’s request or–with regards to the installation of cookies (see Section 9 of this Policy)–of clicking on the related text box.
In the event of a withdrawal of consent or denial of data processing, it may not be possible to fulfill the request or provide the requested service.
Denying one’s consent to the installation of cookies (see Section 9 of this Policy) or disabling them may cause certain pages or site functions not to appear properly.
All data will be processed according to the norms indicated in Art. 5 Reg. (EU) 679/2016, which states, in part, that data shall be: processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner; collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes; adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed; processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organizational measures, including manual (for example, paper backups) and/or automatized methods (for example, electronic processing and backups); always in conformity with applicable existing legislation.
4. Recipients of Data
Personal data is only communicated to third parties in those cases where it is necessary to fulfill the purposes described above.
No personal data deriving from the web service is disseminated.
Personal data is communicated to entities authorized by the Data Controller for processing in accordance with Art. 4, No. 10, and with Art. 29 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679, as well as to external entities hired by the Controller for technical support or maintenance that have proven to be trustworthy and have provided suitable guarantees of privacy, based on the written acts stipulated by Art. 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
5. How Long Data is Stored
Personal data is processed using automated technologies and is stored only as long as is strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data was collected.
6. International Transfer of Data
This Website uses third-party cookies, including those created by Google and Facebook (see Section 9 of this Policy).
Consequently, information generated from these cookies about how the site is used will be received by third parties for processing outside of Italy (specifically, in the United States of America).
Both Google and Facebook have pledged to uphold the Privacy Shield Principles.
No other personal data is transferred internationally.
7. Location of Data Processing
The processing of data connected with the services of this Website takes place at the Headquarters of Data Controller Fraternity of Communion and Liberation in Milan at: via De Notaris 50.
8. Navigation Data
During their normal operation, the information systems and software procedures used for the functions of this websites acquire certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of the Internet, based on TCP/IP protocol.
This is information which in its collection is not associated with identified data subjects, but could by its very nature, through processing and association with data held by others, enable the users to be identified. This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who visit the website, the addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) format of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used in submitting, the request to the web server, the dimensions of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the state of the response given by the web server (success, error, etc...) and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and IT environment. This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the website and to verify it is operating correctly, and it is deleted immediately after the analysis.
Data may be used to ascertain who is responsible in the case of hypothetical cyber-crimes causing harm to the site; outside of this circumstance, data on web visits are not saved for longer than seven days.

10. Third-party Websites
The Website contains links to external websites that are not the property of or under the control of Data Controller.
This applies, in particular, for links to articles and multimedia content hosted by external sites (e.g. YouTube) made available in a small viewer on our site as they are considered to be of interest for users.
In activating the link and/or watching the video again by one’s own choice and responsibility, users should be aware that they are connecting to the external site that hosts the content or video and navigation will continue on that site, away from the site of Data Controller.
Data Controller is not responsible for the processing of personal data–through cookies or in any other form–carried out autonomously by said third parties over whom it holds no control or jurisdiction.
In these cases, users are encouraged to see the privacy policies provided by each site and/or contact its site manager directly.
11. Rights of Data Subjects
Pursuant to Art. 13, 2. b), c) and d) and to Articles 16 to 21 del Reg. (EU) 679/2016, data subjects have the right to:
- to request from the Controller access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability;
- if the processing is based on consent, to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal;
- to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority or make use of other legal remediation available to data subjects as outlined in applicable regulations.
